Former Information, Publicity and Broadcasting services Minister, Chris Mushohwe has died

Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana confirmed, Mushohwe’s death on Twitter.

“We have lost a former Minister of Information Dr Chris Mushohwe. May his Soul Rest in Peace,” he announced

Mushohwe was appointed Resident Minister and Governor of Manicaland Province by the late and Former President Robert Mugabe, on August 25, 2008, following an election defeat to the then Movement for Democratic Change candidate, Shuah Mudiwa. .

He was also the minister of information and broadcasting services in Zimbabwe until October 2017.

Mushohwe was now Minister of State in the President’s Office Responsible for Scholarships, a new ministry which he retained the under the cabinet of the new president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

He was criticised for taking the Kondozi farm near Mutare, which was contributing a lot to Zimbabwe GDP and employment during the land invasion in the early 2000.
